1.
Still 01:31
Still me. Still here. Still you. I still do.
2.
Clear 02:57
Maybe you’re tired, you never say when you’re tired, but I can tell that you’re tired. Heaviest eyes, it’s funny watching you try to hold them open that way. We open every door. Are you okay? I’ll ignore what you say, cause I don’t think you’re okay. We’re in the clear, just as clear as it feels on a cloudy day. We open every door.
3.
Blue 03:50
I hope the heavens for you. Far as you want me to. Your blue is mine too. Hold out your heavy heart. And say how long and how far. Your blue is mine too.
4.
Gray 03:35
I got older. Hurt my shoulder. How does it feel to be old and gray? And to fade away? Climb up at sunrise. Come back at sunset. How does it feel to be old and gray? And to fade away?
5.
High 02:26
How are you so high? How are you still holding on? Of course you are.
6.
Dark 03:32
Like a satellite, floating by. Send an “IOU” to my baby blue. Are you out of sight? A flashing light? I don’t want to know, I don’t want to go. Are you holy? Are you lonely? Do you hate it? Are you halfway? Are you waiting? Do you hate it? I’m a bit tongue tied, when I try to find. When you fall asleep, and you fall in deep. Do you colorize the black and white? I may never know, I don’t have to go. Are you holy? Are you lonely? Do you hate it? Are you halfway? Are you waiting? Do you hate it?
7.
Grayish 01:43
(Instrumental)
8.
Horizon 04:28
There’s a time to see, all the world drifting far away from me. There’s a time to feel, the touch of anything and everyone who’s real. And just let go. Just let go. There’s a time for me, to fall asleep as if I’m floating out to sea. You’ll come too. The time I wish for me is what I wish for you. And just let go. Just let go.
9.
Scott 01:39
How come you always have to know? Why can’t you ever let it go? Scott? How come you always have to know?

about

This album was written and recorded in 10 days…
Over the past few months, I've been working tirelessly on a new record, set to release next year. As a creative exercise, I decided to write some new songs just for fun. What started as a simple idea on March 10th quickly grew into something much larger. By March 20th, I had written, recorded, mixed, and finalized nine brand new tracks ready for release. This project was easily the fastest and most fulfilling creative endeavour I've ever experienced!

Lately, I have found myself preoccupied with thoughts of death. It was a recurring theme on my last record, "Oh Man," and continues to inspire me as I work on my next album. However, with "Horizon," I wanted to shift my focus to life on earth. While the concept of living forever seems appealing, and the uncertainty of the afterlife terrifies me, I took solace in the simple pleasures of life: relationships, love, and living life to the fullest.

The reason behind the album's title, "Horizon," is that while it's something we can talk about, point to, and see with our own eyes, it's not tangible or reachable. To me, a horizon is a perfect metaphor for life's most meaningful aspects: love, relationships, passion, and even death. These things are intangible and elusive, yet they shape our lives in profound ways.

On this album, I took on the majority of the instrumentation, save for percussion by Marta Rosa on "Dark" and "Horizon" and piano by Gareth Inkster on "Horizon." Additional vocals were provided by Allison Geleynse on "Still," "Clear," "Gray," and "High," and Anna Horvath on "Blue."

The creative process for this album was unique in several ways, including the recording and mixing. Rather than focusing on perfecting each take and sonic detail, I chose to finish the record as quickly as possible to preserve the spontaneity of these new songs.

Now, I'm back to working on the other record I've been developing for the past few months, almost as if these impromptu tracks never happened. The memories of these creative 10 days are hazy now, but nonetheless cherished.
